Dave - WB4DES

ave started in the hobby at age thirteen in 1963 located in Rochester, NY. His original call was WB2SIN. However, he obtained the vanity call WB4DES in 2015 which are his initials while living in Kingsport, TN. After marring Pattie in 1973, we lived just north of New Your City for thirteen year. Then we moved to Winston-Salem for the next thirteen year. Our next move took us then to Kingsport, TN for twenty-one year. Our final move happened in March 2022 when we then moved to the Richmond, VA to be near our two grandchildren. Dave has joined three radio clubs in the area and has taught the General License Class for one of the clubs. In addition, Dave and Pattie taught the Technician License Class at a local middle school where Pattie obtained her Technician license. She holds the call WB4PES. The home station is a Yaesu FT-450D connected to a hustler mobile antenna in the ground with three resonators (40, 20, and 15). Living in an HOA makes it difficult to put up antennas. In addition, we have a FT-817 QRP rig with either another hustler mobile antenna or an EFHW antenna.
