Background starting at age17, 1958 Glasgow Scotland.
College of Marine Technology, Greenock.  Obtained First Class PMG certificate in Telecommunications required for position of Merchant Navy Radio Officer. Certificate obtained for Marine & Airborne Radar Maintenance.
Sea time as radio officer on following vessels.  Queen Elizabeth/GBSS, Mauretaina/GTTM, Carinthia/GVDQ, Union-Castle Liners to South Africa – Edinburgh Castle/GOHN, Stirling Castle/GYPX followed by employment on bulk carrier Sunwalker/5LQO of Saguenay Shipping Ltd voyaging to South America ports. General cargo vessel Eucadia/GJZL of Anchor Line journeying  to India/Pakistan.
Emigrated to Canada and started employment with Canadian Marconi Co., Toronto as marine technician maintenance and installation of radio/radar equipment on the Canadian Lakers. Followed by employment by the Canadian Dept. of Transport at Uplands Airport, Ottawa training as meteorology technician.
Returned to U.K. in 1970  obtaining employment as radio operator at Portisheadradio/GKA the long distance H.F. Station located in Somerset, England.
Returned to Canada after two years and employed by Nortel Networks as microwave technician advancing to marketing manager for fibre optics involving travel throughout the U.S. and Canada and occasionally to the U.K. marketing NT products to S.T.C (Standard Telephone & Cables – supplier to the U.K. telephone system.)
Retired at age 54 and currently age 83
