Joe -KS1I

Joe was first licensed with a Novice ticket while he was a senior in high school back in 1974. His mentor and electronic teach was Bill Covey, W1GTT. Joe’s first station consisted of a WRL Globe Chief 90 transmitter which he so graciously gave Joe and a Radio Shack DX-160 shortwave received.

Joe received his Extra Class Amateur Radio Operator License in 1982 and was given the callsign KS1I. Joe still remembers going to the FCC building in Boston (so do I K2KA!) to take the exam. He previously held WN1TLS in 1974 and KA1JKH in 1982. Joe is also a Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Amateur Radio Operator, Amateur Astronomer, Linux user, retired Quality Manager and Statistician
