Bob has been a long time member of the CANAM Net (COMSONT) he is a regular on the net. Bob likes to count CW mistakes, especially his own. He enjoys the net, and CW contests. The first net CW exchange was between Bob and Bruce, VA3ZB in 2003. Others soon followed, including VE3KII and WA1HMW, a former WW2 Royal Navy Radio Man. Bob’s milestones are below:
1950 – Built First Tube Gear
1955 – Novice License
1965 – MSEE, Uof Colorado, Boulder
1979 – Extra License – AG9C
2003 – Discovered COMSONT Net
Bob, AG9C, has been a member of the COMSONT/CANAM Net for 19 years. He coordinated the “early check in feature” of the then COMSONT Net. He is a constant presence on the CANAM Net, monitoring what is going on, jumping in to help, often voluntarily. He is one of our best CW ops. I can’t imagine a day without his melodious tones (voice and CW).
