Ken - VE3KRX

Ken VEK3X

Current NCS on Wednesday’s

Ken was first licensed in 1978 and acquired his Advanced in 1985.  Back in the 1960s, he worked for the Hudson’s Bay Company, both on the West and East coast of Hudson Bay in the Northern Stores Department-Fur Trade.  In many of the Hudson’s Bay posts at that time, the only means of communication was HF radio. After 22 years with Confederation College, Ken retired in 2009. He presently lives in the community of Geraldton (Greenstone), Ontario with his wife Deborah.  He enjoys 20, 40, and 80 metres and SSB/CW. An avid fisherman, Ken and Deborah spend the Summer months at his camp on Lower Twin Lake, 6 miles East of the community of Nakina, where he works his portable station. (Ed. note) Ken is NCS on Wednesdays. He is one of the most valuable assets we have.

I am very proud to honor Ken VE3KRX as the May 2022 recipient of the CANAM Net Certificate of Appreciation.
Throughout his difficulties operating (local noise, weather, etc.) and medical issues he has continued to maintain a presence as the NCS  for Wednesday’s.
His great operating skills and casual presence is an inspiration for us all.
