Don - VE3DHG
Don is a retired licensed auto and heavy truck mechanic who became visually challenged in 1993. He was inspired and encourage by his cousin George L. Clark (VE3QD – now SK) to became a ham. Passing the Basic and Advanced exams in 1996 he obtained his callsign VE3DDQ. Two years later he passed the Morse Code exam (with difficulty. As time went by he obtained VA3QS and later VE3DHG. He currently holds all three callsigns. Don is a member of the Hamilton Amateur Radio Club. He enjoys chasing SSB DX in most of the major contests but does not consider himself a contester. He also enjoys computers, maintaining a web site, taking care of EQSL cards for the Hamilton Club (VE3DC) as well as VA3CWM (the Canadian Warplane Museum). In general he likes to help others whenever possible.
