Peter - VE3SFN
Peters interest in Ham Radio started while I was flying for a Canadian Charter company flying worldwide routes as a Boeing trained professional Flight Engineer. On one flight in a far reach of the world, I managed to get a phone patch during flight to our Operations to order a part, which we desperately needed, for the 747. A land line phone call was not available at that time. I am mostly interested in ARES type of Ham Radio Operations such as that which occurred during Katrina. My RV and home station is prepared for normal emergencies, both as a home base or mobile base. I have been licensed since 1987 and hold advanced privileges, although my CW needs practice. Hopefully Bob KA8LJ will help me out soon. I enjoy RV Boondocking, however, my Portable system using a IC718 with a Buddi Pole is challenging. My wife is licensed with Basic privileges VE3YMX. I belong to CFARS which is the Canadian system which is associated with MARS (I am trying to convince them to start using CW). The CANAM net is an interesting net so keep up the great work.
